Denisha is from a village in Southern India. Her family lives below the poverty line and struggles to find good paying jobs because they are Dalit, the lowest caste of people. Her father currently works as a farmer. Many children in her village leave school due to the lack of funds and work with their parents. Her family has electricity but has water problems in the summer months. Denisha likes to study math, English and Tamil and she enjoys reading books in her free time. She dreams of becoming a teacher.
Globally, 62 million girls are not in school and even more are fighting to stay there. Girls empowered with an education will delay marriage, have fewer children, earn a bigger income, and are more likely to invest in their families and communities. When girls gain skills, knowledge, and confidence, they break the cycle of poverty and help strengthen societies. Educate girls change the world.
Denisha can change the world with her education. Please consider helping contribute to her fee.
